what we know that ain’t so

While reading for a leadership course, I came across this quote attributed to Will Rogers:

It’s not what we don’t know that hurts; it’s what we know that ain’t so.

As is often the case, the simple, down-home wisdom of this great American cowboy continues to ring true. From time to time I’m asked that dinner party question “if you could have coffee with one person from history, living or dead, whom would it be?”  My answer remains Oklahoma’s Favorite Son, Mr. Will Rogers.
